Partnership for Children was established in 2001. Our aim is to promote the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children, helping them to develop social and communication skills, coping strategies, emotional resilience and self-confidence. We have developed a range of programmes and activities which help children and young people (aged 3 – 12 years) to cope with difficulties and express their feelings, resulting in improved classroom atmosphere, boosted academic achievement and reduced bullying.

Relationship abuse is an urgent problem impacting millions of people in the UK every year.
Its prevalence continues to be on the rise. And young people barely out of full time education, between the ages of 16 to 19, are the most at risk of experiencing it; an early experience that can impact nearly every aspect of the rest of their lives.

Behind every statistic is a young life — a child who may be struggling with their mental health, feeling isolated, or facing challenges they can’t yet put into words. With this funding, we can offer more group therapeutic classes and fully subsidised counselling sessions — giving young people a safe place to talk, to be heard, and to heal.

Neurodivergent young people are disadvantaged and stigmatised daily, with many diagnosed with anxiety or depression. A lack of understanding of their needs and busy, overwhelming sensory environments means many neurodivergent young people find school, including friendships, confusing and complicated.

We are delighted to have been awarded a grant from the Pixel Fund to allow us to continue running art groups for bereaved children and young people. 1 in 29 children will be bereaved of a parent or sibling by the time they are 16 years old and the impact can be hard. The emotional and physical toll of bereavement can be devastating for children.

Encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) is a thief. Caused by either an infection or the immune system attacking the brain in error, as many as 4 in 10 people depending on the cause of encephalitis will sadly not survive the condition, even with treatment. Even in those families where the person survives, it robs them of the person they once knew often leaving people with life-changing problems.
