The growing number of children and young people experiencing mental health problems is one of our biggest concerns and a key strategic area for Mind. Although we look forward to a time where we no longer mention Covid as part of our day to day lives, we cannot ignore the damage it has done.

West Sussex Mind

West Sussex Mind is an independent local charity. We support people (aged 8 +) with their mental health, provide specialist training and campaign to improve services and promote understanding.

Be OK Service

Be OK Service

For the past five years we have been running a successful mental health service called Be OK for young people aged 16-25. Young people have issues such as depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts and obsessive compulsion disorder.

York Mind

York Mind

In the last 12 months since receiving the funding from the pixel fund, York Mind have supported 183 young people in the Choose Your Way Project, and 158 young people in Young People’s Counselling. The funding has supported us to offer this provision, allowing young people aged between 8-25 within York to access a range of options of mental health support. These options included peer support groups, art & life skills groups, and one-to-one mentoring and counselling.

Voice Collective

Voice Collective

The overall aim of the Voice Collective project is to improve the prospect of recovery and capacity to cope of children and young people (CYP) who are experiencing distress through hearing voices and other unusual perceptual and cognitive experiences (e.g. unusual beliefs, self-harm, dissociation and multiplicity).

Over half of adult mental health problems start by the age of 14, yet 75% of children are unable to access support and do not receive help when they need it. Shockingly, suicide is now the second biggest killer of young people.

We are an independent local mental health charity operating in West Sussex. Our work is driven by the needs and experiences of people with a mental health problem. We provide information and support to anyone experiencing mental health issues and campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Pause Project

Pause Project

The Pause Project will support young people with a range of mental health issues, aged 14-18 years, who are resident in Harrogate District. The project will provide a weekly drop in for young people at our dedicated, multi-functional modern building in the centre of Harrogate and will offer a range of mental health and wellbeing support and facilities for young people.

Mid and North East Essex Mind provide mental health support to children, young people and adults across the area living with a mild to moderate mental health problems. Our mission is to support and empower people experiencing an emotional or mental health condition by building on their personal hopes and aspirations.

Being young can be a challenging time – and it can be even more challenging when you are experiencing mental health problems. Newport Mind’s projects for children, young people and families give young people the opportunity to access mental health support earlier, and improve their confidence and ability to lead active lives.
