Mid and North East Essex Mind provide mental health support to children, young people and adults across the area living with a mild to moderate mental health problems. Our mission is to support and empower people experiencing an emotional or mental health condition by building on their personal hopes and aspirations. This is achieved by identifying and responding to community needs in order to deliver an effective and efficient system of community based services.
Our services include counselling, peer support and practical support delivered both face to face and online. We have a dedicated service for Children and Young People and The Pixel Fund are currently supporting us to extend this service.
From our base in Colchester we offer a fee paying counselling service for children aged 5 – 18 years. We provide a safe, contained and reflective space for young people to express, explore and process difficult emotions and experiences through creative and therapeutic interventions. We offer children a safe environment where they are free to play, draw and talk about their experiences in order to make sense of their emotional world, to grow and to develop.
The Pixel Fund’s grant will enable us to deliver this service at a subsidised rate to ensure everyone is able to access this service. The service will improve the immediate wellbeing of young people, build their resilience and prevent the development of long-term mental health problems.
