St Werburghs City Farm is a small charity that uses our unique nature sites as a launchpad for meaningful community projects, targeting those most in need. All our work is based in nature and farming, with the aims to improve physical and mental health, offer green-skills learning opportunities, and increase community connection. We are a working Farm that produces meat, eggs, vegetables, plants and crafts.
Our sites include:
A small urban Farm with livestock and vegetable patches
A café and popular playground
A community garden on Mina Road
Boiling Wells Woodland Conservation and Amphitheatre site, on Boiling Wells Lane
230 community allotments
Pixel Fund is supporting our Child & Youth project, which reaches around 1,300 children every year through fun, engaging, educational experiencing in nature. We work with children and young people who are struggling in mainstream education, experiencing marginalisation, or facing challenges associated with SEND. Many of these young people are disengaged from their current learning environment, feeling isolated, lacking confidence, and don't feel connected to their community.
The wide variety of activities on offer at the Farm provides young people with hands-on, meaningful opportunities to feel a sense of purpose as part of something bigger. Whether looking after the animals, foraging for ingredients, growing food, or learning about wildlife, all our young people are provided with bespoke, care-centred sessions that support them to discover their potential and feel inspired about their role in community.
