Richmond's Hope - Children's Bereavement Charity

Richmond’s Hope Glasgow is delighted to have received a £5,000 grant from the Pixel Fund to support our community-based bereavement service for children and young people aged 4–18 across Glasgow and the West of Scotland who have experienced the death of a family member, friend, or someone close to them.

Each child receives one-to-one support from a Therapeutic Grief Practitioner through 40-minute weekly sessions, typically over a 12-week period. Our trauma-informed model uses therapeutic play, creative expression, and specialised grief activities to help children understand their loss, express complex emotions & develop healthy coping strategies. Our programme is child-led and tailored to each child’s developmental stage, emotional needs & personal experience of bereavement.

We also provide practical guidance to parents and carers, both in person and by phone. This helps families strengthen communication, reduce conflict, and better understand their child’s grief responses.

Our services are free to access and available through an open referral system, including referrals from families, schools, health professionals, and self-referrals from young people aged 16 and over.

We are incredibly grateful to the Pixel Fund Trustees for recognising the value of our work and supporting our mission. Their generous contribution will make a meaningful difference to the children and families we support in Glasgow, helping to ensure that no child has to face grief alone.
