Autistica is the UK’s leading autism research charity. We fund research, shape policy and work with autistic people to create breakthroughs that enable autistic people to live happier, healthier, longer lives.
Of the 200,000 autistic children living in the UK, a quarter speak few or no words. Many also have an anxiety disorder – more than 4 in 10. This means many autistic children are living with anxiety but do not have the ability to communicate when they are suffering.
