Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale Mind receives £5,000 from The Pixel Fund to support MindSpace

Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale Mind is delighted to receive a £5,000 grant from The Pixel Fund to support the activities programme within our MindSpace project for children and young people aged 11–16.

MindSpace provides early intervention mental health support for young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, emotional overwhelm, social isolation and low confidence. Alongside one-to-one mentoring and monthly wellbeing hubs, the activities programme gives young people the opportunity to take part in creative, outdoor and confidence-building experiences that help them build resilience, develop friendships and improve their wellbeing.

Many of the young people we support face barriers to accessing activities outside of school due to financial pressures, anxiety or limited local opportunities. The Pixel Fund's support will help ensure these experiences remain free and accessible, enabling more young people to discover new interests, challenge themselves and develop the confidence to engage more fully in their communities.

Since launching in 2022, MindSpace has supported hundreds of local young people, with 80–90% showing improvements in their mental health, confidence and coping skills. We regularly hear from young people that the activities are where they feel able to make friends, try something new and realise they are capable of more than they thought possible.

We are incredibly grateful to The Pixel Fund for investing in the wellbeing of children and young people across Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale. Their support will help us continue providing life-changing opportunities that give young people hope, confidence and a brighter future.
