Stable Life - Galloping Forward

We are delighted to share that Stable Life has been awarded a grant from The Pixel Fund, which marks an exciting new chapter for our Galloping Forward project.

Galloping Forward is a one-year pilot programme designed to support children and young people aged 8–18 who are waiting for a neurodivergent assessment, such as for Autism or ADHD. We know this waiting period can be confusing, stressful and isolating for young people and their families, often with very little support available. Galloping Forward steps into that gap with something different, compassionate, and community-based.

Delivered at our yard in the Scottish Borders, the project will offer four 10-week blocks of small, weekly group sessions where young people will work alongside our horses in a calm, outdoor environment. Through equine-facilitated activities, creative tasks and gentle facilitated discussions, participants will have space to build confidence, understand their emotions, develop self-awareness, and connect with others who share similar experiences.

What makes Galloping Forward unique is the combination of therapeutic support with the power of the horse. Horses are sensitive, non-judgemental and deeply attuned to human emotion. They offer young people a way to communicate, regulate and build trust that doesn’t rely on words alone. This, paired with our skilled, trauma-informed staff, creates a supportive, non-clinical space where young people can feel safe, valued and understood.

The Pixel Fund’s grant of £4,000 will play a vital role in bringing this project to life. It will directly support the therapeutic delivery of the programme, including specialist materials, evaluation tools, and project worker time to ensure each session is thoughtfully planned and impactful.

We are incredibly grateful to The Pixel Fund for believing in Galloping Forward and in the young people we work with. Over the coming year, we look forward to sharing updates, stories, and learning as this innovative project unfolds.
