Support from the Pixel Fund has enabled us to continue and expand our Therapeutic Horticulture programme for young people, aged 14-25. These young people have neurodevelopmental differences, which means that it is difficult for them to access traditional work experience opportunities.
Funding has enabled us to increase the number of special school groups who visit us on a weekly basis from 2 to 4.
We have also provided long-term work experience placements for two young people who attend on a weekly basis, as well as two additional students who attended for week-long placements.
Supported by our experienced staff, the young people nurture our wonderful gardens and benefit from working in a community in a peaceful space. Alongside learning about gardening, the young people learn important life skills such as teamwork, independence and following instructions.
