Support Dogs

Support Dogs, are delighted that, thanks to the amazing generosity of The Pixel Fund, our charity will be able to change the lives of another child with autism and their whole family by helping to fund a new Autism Assistance dog partnership.

There around 700,000 people diagnosed with autism in the UK- which is 1 in 100 people. If you include their family’s autism is a part of daily life for 2.8 million people in the UK.

Autism puts an enormous physical, emotional, and financial strains on children, parents and their siblings keeping them from enjoying a full and joyful life.

Autism Assistance Dogs are trained to provide safety and facilitate a more independent and more socially inclusive life for the child with autism and their family. Autism assistance dogs work to reduce stress and promote positive emotional, educational and physical developmental changes in the child. They assist with the child’s daily routine helping with many aspects of family life including improved access to education, health and community services.

Our dogs make a huge difference to lives of autistic children.

  • 90% of parents reported that there was a huge reduction in signs of anxiety and depression in their child.

  • 100% of families said they were now able to access their communities and confidently take part in activities they were unable to before.

  • 100% of the families said they were children were happier children with their Autism Assistance dogs.

  • 100% of parents say their child’s school has noticed a positive effect on their child since having a support dog.

We are incredibly grateful to the generosity and kindness of The Pixel Fund who continue to help us transform the lives of children in the UK.
