The Pixel Fund are supporting YoungMinds this year to deliver support to parents and carers who are worried about their child's mental health, through their Parent Helpline services.
These services are:
A telephone Helpline service, open Monday to Friday between 9:30am and 4pm
A webchat which is also open Monday to Friday 9:30am and 4pm
And an email service which can be used outside of our webchat and helpline opening hours, as well as over the weekends.
YoungMinds' parent services are part of their Someone to turn to strategic programme, which is about making sure young people have adults in their life that they can turn to when they are struggling. Because far too many young people are struggling without the support they need.
YoungMinds support thousands of families through these three services every year, and have ambitious plans to make it possible to reach many more in the years ahead.
Some of the most common issues that YoungMinds' Helpline support families with, include: Anxiety, Self-Harm, Depression and low mood, Anger and Aggression. And the support that their brilliant team offer really does make a difference. In the 21-22 financial year, 77% of parents supported through their services, said they learned something new they could try to support the young person in their life.
Alongside these services, parents and carers can find a wealth of support on YoungMinds’ website. In fact, YoungMinds have a navigation tool, that helps parents and carers find the advice and resources most relevant to their specific situation.
