The Pixel Fund is supporting BOUNCE! Brighter Futures to develop our service. BOUNCE! is a charity providing specialist mental health services to children and young people within schools and the community. We are a team of committed mental health professionals with a high level of training and a wealth of relevant experience. Our focus is on delivering accessible, high-quality psychotherapy and counselling to children, young people and their families who would otherwise fall through the cracks of statutory services and private provision. We deliver our services from our community hub and within schools where we embed therapists who work with educational staff to identify the most vulnerable children in greatest need of therapeutic support. Demand for our services across the community is growing and we are projected to provide the following, a more than 100% increase on the previous year:
2724 therapy sessions
468 school staff consultations
540 parent support sessions
144 school reflective practice sessions
The people we support are struggling with a wide-range of mental health difficulties. These include anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, family breakdown, trauma, loss, domestic abuse and violence.
We are committed to ongoing evaluation and building a service that is responsive to the needs of our community and service users. For purposes of evaluation, in September 2021 we engaged a counselling student to follow selected CYP from different demographics through our system. We use this feedback alongside a number of nationally recognised and validated measures, including HoNOSCA, PHQ9 and GAD7, to draw meaningful conclusions that inform our work.
