The Pixel Fund grant will be used to expand and develop our counselling provision for young people during 2020.
We are creating two additional counselling spaces within our premises (in addition to our three existing rooms). With funding in place, we will expand our counselling provision for young people aged 18-25. Based only 500 metres from the University of Surrey we already have several students attending our counselling, those preferring to support from an organisation independent of the university.
Our counsellors are studying towards professional qualifications (including Doctorates in Psychology and Masters in Integrative Counselling). We will have a counselling supervisor (complying with BACP guidelines) and a counselling coordinator to administer the project. The whole project is led by our Chief Executive.
We will carefully measure the outcomes of this project through a bespoke feedback form specifically designed to assess the impact of this counselling. A successful outcome would be that clients feel that they have better mental well-being at the end of their counselling.
