The generous donation that we have received from the Pixel Fund will enable our charity to provide trips and outdoor activities for around 180 children and young people with Cerebral Palsy in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset, including accessible transport and travel assistance. All of these will be held in accessible venues that are disabled-friendly.
It will also enable our staff and volunteers to provide practical support and information for our young members, their parents and other family carers.
Two of the staff members involved in running this project have Cerebral Palsy.
Most of our young members are wheelchair-users or require other mobility and disability aids to get around, communicate and undertake simple everyday tasks. Many of our young members also belong to families experiencing financial hardship.
The work of our charity, gratefully supported by the Pixel Fund, will improve the lives of youngsters with Cerebral Palsy. Our trips and activities will provide opportunities for them to meet other youngsters, form friendships and participate in activities that were once not considered possible. This project will also improve the health, emotional well-being, self-esteem and confidence of our young members.
