The Therapy Garden is a horticulture and education charity that uses gardening to generate positive change. We work with adults and teenagers with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and mental health challenges and offer school-age teenagers interventional education opportunities.
Our Green School programme gives students aged 12-18, some with additional educational needs, the chance to gain a City & Guilds vocational qualification ‘Skills for Working Life: Horticulture’. We are also registered to use AQA's Unit Achievement Scheme's validated units enabling us to acknowledge and celebrate individual achievement. Students are referred from SEN and mainstream schools with a range of challenges such as ASD, ADHD and Down’s syndrome as well as individual behavioural challenges and gives students the chance to try horticulture through practical learning.
