Gloucestershire Counselling Service

We work with children and young people in a whole range of circumstances - anxiety, self-harm, trauma and abuse, relationship issues, or those who are worried and finding it hard to share their feelings. Increasingly we are working with children and young people who have been victims of sexual abuse/violence and bullying for whom there is no adequate statutory provision of support to help them.

Our Child & Family Counselling Service offers a range of help from counselling for individual children to concerned parents, through to whole family sessions. Using a range of skills, counsellors offer solution focused work, active listening, art therapy and family therapy. Our experience shows us that intervention and support for children and families can help to address their problems leading to more stable home lives and in turn allowing children to develop confidence and access education more successfully.

Funding from the Pixel Fund will enable us to provide heavily subsidised, ongoing counselling to those in severe financial hardship. As a direct result of Covid-19, we are experiencing unprecedented demand for our services and particularly from those on a low income, unable to access statutory support.
